To address concerns about indoor air quality and energy use, Energy Efficiency Services Limited in partnership with USAID-led MAITREE program, has launched a program on Retrofit of Air-conditioning to Improve Indoor Air Quality for Safety & Efficiency RAISE as a part of the Healthy & Energy Efficient Buildings initiative. US-India Strategic Energy Partnership (SEP) - Joint Statement released
|
The SEP, now at the two-year mark, organizes cooperation between the US Department of Energy and the Indian Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on different technical areas including energy efficiency and renewables. A joint statement was released on 17 July 2020 highlighting achievements and new priorities like R&D on energy storage and smart grids. Read the full statement here.

Humanscapes is a net-positive housing complex located in Auroville, designed as a prototype for sustainable development that can withstand climate change impacts. The design and planning intends to create a benchmark in energy, waste and water use with solar passive buildings using low embodied building materials. Poured earth walls with strips of waste Cuddapah stone and natural stone flooring are used as major building materials. Exposed brick-vault roofing system is implemented in this project. Further, the construction was carried out using local workmanship. The project meets its energy requirement through various off-grid renewable sources. It also features water collection and recycling systems and has provision for on-site food production. Read more
