The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is an agency established under the Ministry of Power to develop programs for increasing the conservation and efficient use of energy in India. BEE coordinates with designated consumers and other organizations to create awareness on energy efficiency and conservation and develop the required norms. For additional information, please access:

This website was launched in 2015 under the USAID Partnership to Advance Clean Energy – Deployment (PACE-D) Technical Assistance (TA) Program, in partnership with BEE.

USAID is the world’s premier international development agency and a catalytic actor driving development results. USAID’s work advances U.S. national security and economic prosperity, demonstrates American generosity, and promotes a path to recipient self-reliance and resilience.

The NZEB Knowledge Portal, launched in 2015, was maintained as a part of the USAID Market Integration and Transformation Program for Energy Efficiency (MAITREE) from 2017-2022. During this period, NZEB Knowledge Series and ZerO-In Dialogues on grid-interactive net zero energy buildings were initiated, resulting in 50+ curated webinars on the themes of policy, design, technology and occupant engagement. The portal is currently being supported through USAID South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP), a five-year initiative aiming to improve access to affordable, secure, reliable, and sustainable energy across six South Asian countries—Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
