Various state governments have started energy efficiency programs for state owned buildings. Features of these programs typically include use of 4 or 5 star labeled appliances and equipment, efficient lighting systems, compliance with ECBC and green building rating systems like GRIHA or IGBC, and mandatory energy audits.
