SUMMARY:ENERGISE 2020
DESCRIPTION:ENERGISE 2020 is India’s signature biennial conclave that brings together the key government agencies\, business leaders\, researchers\, academicians\, civil society organizations and relevant stakeholders on one platform to help build a culture of energy efficiency in India. We at Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy perceive energy efficiency as a resource and first fuel. \nThis 3-day flagship conclave studies the best practices and successes of today through white paper presentations. You can expect paper presentations on business leadership\, innovation\, policy evaluation\, within the context of emerging trends and technologies of tomorrow\, to scale up benefits of energy efficiency well into the future years on core thematic areas \n\nBuildings and Communities\nUrban Infrastructure and Utilities\nEnergy Efficiency for Business Competitiveness.\n\nFurther\, there will also be dedicated Exhibition & Techno Buzz setup for the Original Equipment Manufacturers\, Technology and Service Providers\, Startups\, System Integrators and other stakeholders from the energy efficiency domain to showcase their unique offerings. \nFinally\, breakaway sessions at Energise 2020 will have opportunities for side events by government and government affiliates\, domestic and international foundations.

SUMMARY:Designing for outdoor thermal comfort
DESCRIPTION:The conventional way of building accelerates heat island effect of cities and therefore decreases the quality of outdoor spaces\, especially in warm and humid climates. In times of global warming\, outdoor comfort is becoming an important factor for liveability and well-being of human habitats. \nWhile active systems only have a limited range and are not suitable for outdoor areas\, good passive design can make a big difference if an outdoor space feels comfortable or not. It determines how much and how often it is used. In many ways\, outdoor comfort complements high-performance buildings. \nThe webinar explains the principles of outdoor thermal comfort and how to evaluate it. It also illustrates strategies and examples of how to design for comfortable outdoor spaces\, especially in warm and hotter climates. \nAbout the speaker: \nAlexander works at Transsolar’s Munich office. His approach to the different projects is based on his architectural understanding in combination with energy efficiency and sustainable design. He has been involved in the development and implementation of innovative climate and outdoor comfort concepts. Alexander works on daylight and passive house calculations focusing on the holistic process. \nRegister here: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/4203547706548123403 \nThis webinar is part of ‘NZEB Knowledge Series’ – an initiative supported by USAID’s MAITREE program (http://maitree.edsglobal.com) to accelerate the discussions and catalyse actions on Net Zero Energy Buildings in India.
