SUMMARY:How to tell your high-performance building story
DESCRIPTION:It is one thing to know how to design an NZEB and another to communicate the idea in a compelling manner to the client and other team members. This requires some skills and understanding of how to use simulations during the early design process. Communicating building design performance through meaningful and effective graphics is integral to achieving an NZEB. In many ways\, Project Stasio aims to do this. In this webinar\, the speakers will introduce the basic principles of using graphics to communicate a high-performance story\,  as well as a methodology for architects and modelers to ask questions about simulations effectively. \nProject Stasio is an online website populated with crowd-sourced simulation graphics which helps improve the way modelers graphically communicate with designers. This webinar brings Project Stasio team to talk about the following in a panel discussion while sharing their professional experience:\n1) What and why the communication gap?\n2) How graphics can cover the gap?\n3) How to get the point across in practice? \nAbout the speakers:\nMichael Sawford is a building simulation specialist with over 10 years of experience and is the Vice President at EDSL USA\, Inc. \nAlejandra Menchaca is a Senior Associate at Thornton Tomasetti\, where she co-leads the Sustainability Practice for the Boston office. \nAmarpreet Sethi is a Principal at TK1SC\, an engineering firm and leads the Energy and Sustainability team. \nThis webinar is part of ‘NZEB Knowledge Series’ – an initiative supported by USAID’s MAITREE program (http://maitree.edsglobal.com) to accelerate the discussions and catalyse actions on Net Zero Energy Buildings in India.
