SUMMARY:Building Performance Tools
DESCRIPTION:Building simulation can take sustainable design to the next level. Simulation tools are also useful for demonstrating compliance to codes and rating sytems and are driving the industry towards a model-based performance approach. The webinar focusses on 3 beta tools that can streamline compliance and step up the workflow. The following tools will be discussed\, along with demonstrations: \n1. Baseline Automation for ECBC: This tool translates the Proposed Design Simulation Input Definition File (IDF) into a Baseline Case IDF using Python based scripting language. \n2. LIT tool: The tool is developed to speed up Daylighting for LEED compliance. It automates geometry creation and output generation for LEED submission. The user just needs to draw polylines in a prescribed format and assign relevant inputs for compliance modelling. \n3. CLACS tool: The web-based tool which assists in designing Chiller Plants for buildings. It uses an annual simulation-based approach that uses sequential parametric algorithms to facilitate early design insights towards chiller sizing and operation control. \nThe webinar panel will feature Tech Services team from Environmental Design Solutions [EDS]. EDS is a sustainability advisory firm focusing on the built environment with expertise in energy-efficient building design\, building code development\, energy-efficiency policy development\, energy simulation\, and green building certification. The Tech Services team works at the intersection of Building Science\, Technology\, and Data. It has been creating various tools\, dashboards and automation routines to expedite various simulation and decision making processes in the domain of Built Environment. \nThe session will be moderated by Piyush\, who has a decade’s experience at EDS in leveraging computational techniques and data analysis for sustainable performance. He will be joined by Nikunj\, the lead programmer and Robin\, who specializes in building energy simulation. Anurag will bring his expertise in scripting to the table. \nThis webinar is part of ‘NZEB Knowledge Series’ – an initiative supported by USAID’s MAITREE program (http://maitree.edsglobal.com) to accelerate the discussions and catalyse actions on Net Zero Energy Buildings in India. This webinar-series will bring industry experts to share knowledge\, expertise\, ideas and showcase innovative products/projects/technology that can fuel discussions on building energy efficiency and grow engagement for NZEBs. \nRegister here- https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7028440465102470669 \nUpcoming events: http://www.nzeb.in/upcoming-events/
