SDE4 in Singapore: Net Zero by Design

September 27, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The National University of Singapore’s extension for the School of Design & Environment exemplifies a paradigm shift for comfortable and energy-efficient design in the tropics. The 91,500 sq. ft and 5-story building accommodate labs, design studios, and workshops for the schools of architecture and interior, landscape and product design.  Transsolar KlimaEngineering—an international climate-engineering firm that approaches sustainability through innovative climate and energy concepts for buildings- guided and supported the design team with simulation tools for thermal comfort, daylight, glare, and energy as well as with measurements of thermal comfort.

Wolfgang Kessling, one of the directors at Transsolar KlimaEngineering, has been instrumental in spearheading the energy concepts of prominent projects such as the Cooled Conservatories at Gardens by the Bay, Singapore; Zero Energy Office Building, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and the Human Resources Headquarters at Novartis Basel, Switzerland. In this webinar, he shares his strategies, approach and insights for the SDE4 project.

This webinar is part of ‘NZEB Knowledge Series’ – an initiative supported by USAID’s MAITREE program (http://maitree.edsglobal.com) to accelerate the discussions and catalyse actions on Net Zero Energy Buildings in India. This webinar-series will bring industry experts to share knowledge, expertise, ideas and showcase innovative products/projects/technology that can fuel discussions on building energy efficiency and grow engagement for NZEBs.
